About RaAM 16th

The Organising Committee of the 16th  RaAM Conference welcomes you to our website and is pleased to invite you to this new edition, which will take place next 28-30 June 2023, co-organized by Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and Universidad de Alcalá.

RaAM is committed to the study of metaphor, metonymy and other forms of figurative expression in all domains of life and with a particular focus on the application of metaphor research to real-life issues. On this basis, the theme for our conference is Metaphor in Public Discourse, insisting on the crucial role of metaphor as a strategy for the construction, spread and contestation of specific ideologies, influencing citizens’ attitudes and decisions about practical issues.
